To live here we ask that you be a person that naturally ascribes to honor and respect for one another, as well as our environment. And that you have an active involvement in keeping the house and grounds clean and tidy. And also be of a mind and temperament that is low impact on the others, i.e. quiet and clean while still friendly and responsive to the matters of cooperatively living together. This is an alcohol, tobacco and drug free environment by choice, not a recovery center. We simply choose this value and we look for those who stay high on their own attitudes and the enthusiasm we generate. We choose from people who can maintain a peaceful, positive and productive participation without high drama.
There is no religion to subscribe to or to live by here. Yet we look for those who have a spiritual dimension to their personality and a respect for those on their own path to a spiritual awakening. We are looking for people who share common values and interests to our own. Our interests involve living in nature - gardening, landscaping the grounds, cooking and occasionally singing karaoke or playing live music and enjoying good humor together. (To those shy folks this is not a requirement.)
By and large we maintain a quiet meditative environment where folks don't come home to unexpected surprises i.e. parties or other unexpected house guests. You always have quiet solitude in your own room. This is a safe and quiet place to live and enjoy life.
We do not discriminate on age or gender. However regarding sex we ask that you not engage in or solicit such from others residing here. We typically have a ratio of 50% male to 50% female living here. Thus we screen people to verify their motivations and the likelihood of their making a successful transition to living here.
Ages of tenants may range from 18 years of age and up. We look for people that are comfortable living with people of different ages. We have students, working people and retired sharing the environment. The number of people can very. This is a rather stable environment. We do not have many in and out people.
While some people both live and work on the property others have employment and or attend schools etc. that takes them regularly off the property. You are welcome to come and go as you please.
You are able to use the kitchen independently or cook with others who want to share meals. Either cooking independently or collectively is an option that you have here.
We have one eight-pound hypo allergenic Maltese dog, Two Rossala parrots, Lady Gouldian Finches, Love birds and White Peace Doves. We have no other house pets and we are not taking on any additional pets. Some people are allergic to pets so we make this home comfortable to all.
This is a spacious 4000 square foot home. This home does not have a cramped or crowded feeling to it. The bedrooms are separated from the common shared areas. One can be in a peaceful quiet space here anytime, day or night.
We have generally between four and eight people living here. The environment here allows for you to have a peaceful quiet sanctuary either indoors or outside on our spacious 4 acres of property. Some people are actively involved on the property and other are largely engaged in off-property lifestyles.
This is offered as a quick summary of what to expect in the application process and brief overview of some of the activities we share in. The involvement and amount of participation varies from person to person.
